Happy Sunday, friends!
We hope you enjoyed a lovely week. Ours was busy with blog work, and here in North Carolina the temperature dipped again—end of April chills when we expected spring warmth. I won’t complain too much; summer will be here before we know it and then we’ll be wishing for cooler nights.
Last night we saw Kenny Chesney and his show was fantastic. Going to concerts—especially country shows—is one of our favorite ways to spend time with friends. We have a few more concerts coming up in the next couple of months and we’re really looking forward to them.

AnnMarie’s Week
I’m wrapping up the bathroom project Chris and I started back in January. There are just a few finishing touches left before we can call it done. DIY projects always seem to take longer than expected, but seeing progress keeps me motivated.

Here’s a design dilemma I’d love your input on: I found two mirrors on Facebook Marketplace and installed them last week, but now that they’re up I’m unsure about the finish and the size. I considered using gold Rub ‘n Buff to change the color, but they look smaller on the wall than I expected. What do you think—should I keep them, change the finish, or keep looking for something larger? Tell me honestly in the comments.
Anne’s Week
This week was quieter at my house—life is pretty calm now that the kids are grown and out on their own. We all stay connected through texts and lots of photos, especially because every family member seems to have at least one cat.
Back in September we found three tiny, four-week-old kittens under a house we were renovating. They ended up staying in the family: my son and his girlfriend adopted two, my daughter and her fiancé adopted the third and another kitten, and my daughter who’s still in college fosters kittens with her roommates for the local shelter. Their newest foster baby weighs only 13 ounces and was abandoned by its mother—so yes, we’re definitely the kind of family that rescues animals.

When I wasn’t sharing kitten updates, I spent time developing a few new recipes that I’m excited to share here soon. Cooking and trying new dishes always brightens my week.
This Week on Simply2Moms

We published a full week of fresh content on the blog. Our monthly virtual supper club brought friends together to share fresh ideas for entertaining, from tabletop styling to simple recipes.

Anne created a new baked chicken salad recipe that we enjoyed for lunch—it’s delicious and easy to prepare. If you like simple, flavorful dishes that travel well for gatherings, this one is worth trying.

AnnMarie styled a lovely, low-fuss table for Mother’s Day using a creative, budget-friendly centerpiece that looks elegant and intentional. It’s a great example of how a few simple touches can make a celebration feel special.

If you’re hosting Mother’s Day this year, Anne rounded up 27 recipe ideas suitable for a luncheon, brunch, or dinner. There are plenty of tasty, approachable options to fit any gathering size or menu theme.

We also shared an inexpensive DIY photo display that’s perfect for graduation parties. AnnMarie built a meaningful and eye-catching pallet display for under $20 and in about an hour—great for celebrating milestone moments without overspending.

We love a good game night and shared a list of 15 fun games ideal for teens, young adults, and families. Whether you prefer card games, board games, or party-style play, there are great options to gather friends for an evening of laughs and friendly competition.
