Chic Parisian Party Ideas for a Pretty in Paris Celebration

This Pretty in Paris–themed celebration was full of charming details: an outdoor flower cart where each guest could build her own bouquet, a chocolate box–making station, and the most delicate petit fours and treats. The overall look leaned pink, floral, and utterly girly, and every small touch made the party feel elegant and whimsical.Pretty in Paris Themed Party

Pretty in Paris Themed Party

With one little girl surrounded by four brothers, her birthdays are the perfect excuse to go all out with feminine details. Over the years we’ve done themed celebrations—from gingerbread decorating to American Girl parties—and this Paris theme felt like a natural fit: lots of pinks, flowers, and, of course, chocolate.

To keep kids engaged, we created two activity stations: a flower-making cart and a chocolate box assembly table. We considered other ideas—a gluten-free boulangerie station for sandwich-making and a hot chocolate bar—but decided to keep things simple. In hindsight that was a lifesaver: I was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital the morning of the party, and my husband hosted the event with the help of a few wonderful friends. (My water broke at 23.6 weeks; more on that later, but we are grateful to share that our baby is healthy and doing well.)

Party Favors

For party favors, I chose darling puzzles from a local shop and tied them with sweet tags and ribbon to create a polished takeaway. Favors that look thoughtful but are simple to assemble keep both kids and parents happy.

I also ordered decorated sugar cookies from a talented baker friend. The edible cookie boxes filled with tiny cookies were beautiful and delicious—and they doubled as a lovely centerpiece on a tiered tray. Pairing the cookies with simple mocktails made for a perfect, kid-friendly refreshment table.

Outdoor Flower Cart

The flower cart was the clear favorite. The girls loved choosing blooms and arranging their own bouquets. I found the cart years ago at a yard sale and knew it would one day be perfect for a party like this.

To give the cart a Parisian vibe, we draped a black-and-white fabric canopy overhead. For flowers, a mix of affordable wildflowers, filler like baby’s breath, and a few roses provides texture and color without costing a fortune—kids won’t notice the variety as much as the fun of choosing blooms. We stocked the buckets with flowers purchased in bulk and used simple black buckets to keep the look cohesive.

Build Your Own Bouquet Station

After “shopping” at the cart, each girl wrapped her bouquet in kraft paper and tied it with twine. Some moms hoped for large arrangements, but the children tended to pick what they loved, which made each bouquet delightfully unique.

These bouquets can be wrapped in themed gift paper, newspaper, or simple kraft paper—whatever you have on hand. The rustic wrap complements the florals and keeps the focus on the blooms themselves.

Chocolate Box Making Station

The chocolate box station competed with the flower cart for the crown of most-loved activity. I purchased a large assortment of inexpensive chocolates and set them out on trays beside empty boxes. The girls loved filling their boxes, sampling treats as they worked, and decorating the lids. It’s an easy, budget-friendly activity that feels indulgent and festive.

Naked Cake

For the birthday cake I chose a small, understated 6-inch naked cake finished with a sprig of baby’s breath. With so many detailed elements at the party, the minimalist cake brought balance—clean, classic, and beautiful.

Overall, this Pretty in Paris gathering was simple to recreate and perfect for an outdoor celebration: minimal cleanup and maximum charm. If you enjoy this style, try pairing the activities with a few mocktail recipes, a small selection of themed cookies, and a cozy outdoor setup to keep things light and delightful.

Whether you’re planning a birthday or a special afternoon with friends, a Paris-inspired party with hands-on stations like a flower cart and chocolate box making is a sweet, memorable way to celebrate.
